Desperation

As usual, I write with no audiance. Ah well. I read so many blogs and books and comments. See the bond between the writers of my favorite books, knowing full well they probably haven't read any of mine. *sighs*

I'm trying really hard to become one of them. Don't know if I am succeeding. At times, it seems pointless, and then I work on one of my books, or see that Lost and Found, though minimal, is actually selling and only two days after release.

I know that if I can get cover art, it would make a difference, though probably with readers, not with my fellow authors. I'm working on it.

I know for a fact, I write well. I know my stories are good, and yet, I get no reviews, no feedback. That is such an ego buster. I haven't quite figured out how to promote, though I try to get tips from the many authors I have befriended on FB and Blogs.

Am I desperate? Yes. Do I care about extreme recognition? No. I just want to write and feel good about other people enjoying my stories.

So, I will say to the many people who have actually bought and read my books, thank you from the bottom of my heart. Without you, my stories would fester and fall to the wayside. Something I would never want to happen to my many and varied characters. Characters that have become family. Characters that invade and consume my thoughts.

*Hugs to all*

  1. Hello,

I am a fan of Amber Kell. Since she hopped onto your blog and I visited I thought I would look around to see who you are. I am adding you to my list of blogs to check on. I only check once or twice a month. Sorry. If I continue to find your blog entries as interesting as I found this one, then I think I will invest in one of your books...... Good luck and thank you for hosting.

  2. I just wanted to say that I had never heard of you until I followed Ambers link. That being said, I read on down through your blog and decided to check out some of your books. I ended up buying two. Phoenix and the reluctant rent boy. Which sound really really good. I can't wait to read them. However, I had a hard time finding them to buy. THis might be why they aren't selling as fast. The only link I could find was for Amazon, which is fine if you have an Amazon account and a kindle, which I do and the only format it was sold in was Kindle. Not sure how the publishing works but I know for me I am spoilt and used to being able to go to multiple sites like ARE or Dreamspiner and finding them and having the option of 4 0r 5 formats. Just something to think about. and keep writing. I think I'm gonna end up one of your dedicated followers. lol

  3. Hi There
Was thinking of you this morning.
Yesterday after Ambers blog I noted the Desperation title of the post prior.
I got curious and went and found Phoenix.
I agree with LC (above) about the limited avenues to find your work. I enjoyed Phoenix definately. I also got a note from Tymber Dalton this morning - hence me thinking of you - who wrote a free pfd file (about 20K words) on how to promote yourself. Its called Pimp Yourself. I think you have to join her Yahoo Group to get it, and its onthe left hand side menu in her Yahoo group under "Files"
Maybe that will help. Good Luck!!!
